Victor Mattina (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1985).
Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro, RJ. For thirteen years has been building a body of work in painting that uses photography, computer graphics, manipulation of images found in scientific and police archives, and more recently in pictures generated by artificial intelligence, in a search for the synthesis of a kind of atlas of vestigial images, that is, visual situations that the artist pulls out of their original context and hides it, suspending indefinitely the meaning and the original utility of the image. It is then up to the spectator, through his condition of imaginer, to relate the different vestiges and, with intuition and a keen eye, to stir up the layers hidden by the painting.
